    NEFC RDL Team

Anyone have info on the NEFC RDL team? Where do they practice. How many nights per week? Tryouts? Experiences? Etc.

They practice 4 times a week either in mendon or at forekicks in Marlboro.
Tones of kids during try out. I would say maybe 100 last year... mostly NEFC kids already identified will make it. If you come from another club, you must be a rock star to be ID.
Right now the U12 is coached by CB... no clue for next year.
They have in total 2 teams and about 26 kids (playing 9v9 at that age).
No A and B team... teams are balanced most of the time. Both teams will play each weekend.
Only the top 13 kids will go to the crossing game in NYC and Philly.

Biggest problem is “CB is coaching”.

Here is a story I just heard from an unhappy parent of an NEFC NPL player.
NEFC had a guest coach for 2 teams down at the IMG tournament in FL last month. The regular coach could not make it. Each players family were required to pay an additional fee for this coach to cover the costs. Each family sent in an additional $25 x 30 families. They recently were asked to send an additional $15/ family x30 players. Apparently his costs were not totally covered.
Does this sound crazy to anyone else? Wasn’t the club supposed to have a coach cover the tournament already? A little excessive also!

The league is a place where Revs coaches can verify they have scouted the best players for older teams.
They are looking for the top 5 players in each club. Everyone else is just there to fill the roster.

              Here is this year website

              https://events.gotsport.com/events/r...er=Boys&Age=12

NEFC, Bolts and GPS have been the top U12 programs for the last 4 years.

Coaches fees are always extra $$ when traveling, regardless if regular or stand-in coach.

I’ve been involved with club soccer now for 7 years with 2 kids and have never paid an extra fee when traveling. Never heard of this type of thing.

It happened to us one time, but they added a tournament beyond the original plan so we were OK with it.

Typically it's buried in your fees so you don't know about it.

Just to clarify the fees are to cover the cost of coaches traveling (airfare, hotel, etc), not payment of the coach.

Standard with NEFC, from what I've seen. And $40 per family is a bargain (again, speaking of my experience with NEFC).

If they set the expectation up front, then it's no big deal. Everyone is paying for the coach's travel. Either buried in your tuition or itemized after.

The example provided appears to be a little different, though.
