Kind of funny but Oceanside is facing a $100,000 penalty per domain name that they registered.

I am not sure of the technicality but didn't companies use to purchase domain names in order to sell it to later, most times to the company that needed it. Im guessing they purchased the domain and had it forward to their site.

so if someone wants it, can't they just buy from the current owner?

seams a bit ridiculous to go through this entire rigmarole with lawyers and lawsuits.

      Either buy it back.
      or
Change/modify your name and/or get a new website.

Congress passed a law in 1999 making it a federal crime to purposely buy the domain name of your competitors.

I thought SESA and Oceanside were related entities with SESA first started; is that not the case?

No that is not the case. They were never related. I believe Sesa was started by unhappy Oceanside parents who left. It was never affiliated with OUSC in any way. I know Sesa is based in Oceanside, but I don't know where they practice or play their games. I'm curious about that if anyone knows.

Anybody have any updates on this matter? I'm an Oceanside resident and am extremely curious. Not concerned at all, but extremely curious.
