    Recommendations for spring club soccer

So my daughter, class of 2021, just informed me she wants to try to play soccer in college. Yes, very late In the game I know. I know she won’t be playing DIv 1 so save your comments. She has played for FC stars ECNL in the past but has no interest in going back there. Any recommendations for clubs, we are in the Nashua area, and don’t mind driving a bit. She just needs the opportunity to be seen this Spring since she missed it this fall during HS season.

There's a Stars NH program and also Aztecs NH (which used to be NEFC North and that used to be Nashua World Cup). Not sure of the ages of Aztecs, but pretty sure that Stars NH has a team at that age. You also have GPS out of Bedford at that age and is likely the best of the group in that area. If you want to travel, there's Seacoast in Epping.

We are Nashua and go to Seacoast.

Very late but not hopeless. Does she have a recruiting video put together and a resume ready? She needs that asap. There will be many ID events coming up soon and it may be worthwhile to attend one to see where she fits in. To be efficient I'd do one of the multi school ones so she can see what programs take a shine to her. Targeting is the key to success

The only two events are this weekend (GPS Thanksgiving) and next weekend (Stars). After that you are hosed. You have 3 choices Seacoast, GPS and the fake Stars. You have to call each coach today and see who has space and if they are interested in adding players. Also, I call bull**** on this whole thread, but figured I had time and could answer.

You don't have to be in a team to attend ID events run by schools or organizations that pool multiple schools together. I agree with the other poster that testing the waters soon is a good idea before the family vests too much into it.

For a girls 2003 or 2004 aged child you have 2 choices in NH, GPS NH has quality teams at that age group. Seacoast has DA at that age that will pull their best players but the NPL teams are still good as some players don't want to skip HS soccer. At 2003 and 2004 Aztecs and Stars NH don't have high caliber teams but do at younger ages.

I am bias as I have a daughter on the team, but if she wants to stay in NH, GPS NH NPL 2003 girls (assuming she is a 2003 birth year) would be her closest and best option unless you want Seacoast DA. Excellent team, stable coach, girls from all over NH and few from northern MA. They just got back from North Carolina, played this weekend at the GPS Thanksgiving Showcase, will play NEFC Showcase tournament in March and Jefferson Cup College Showcase in Virginia in late March and then somewhere for Memorial Day. They have several girls that are committed or in the process of committing to schools at all 3 divisions and have had great college coaching turnout at their recent games in NC and MA so the girls are getting great exposure.

I'm assuming that team is full at this point?

To thread OP: get on the phone to clubs to see what openings they have. Most clubs will let your player come to a practice to see if there's a fit.

Not necessarily. Roster is around 18, but three long term injuries may have opened up a spot, especially on defense.

We're talking GPS here. They have no problem rostering 22-25 players. However, that's usually reserved for the lower teams. They may not go beyond 18 with their NPL team.

                          Same team for years.

Not currently with GPS, but in the 5 years we were with them we never had a roster like that. They put in 2, and even 3, teams at an age group if they had that many players.

Maybe it's changed, but that was definitely not the case when we were there.

There are 2+ teams at the 2003 girls age group for GPS NH. One is NPL, the other plays in NEP. Based on the original poster’s description of the level where his daughter had played in the past, it is probably worth a call. The team has had the same core for many years but added 2 new players this year, so if she is talented I am guessing she will get a fair look.
