    Brown id camp girls

Total garbage. What a money grab. Assistant men's coach yapping about 'only forward, no pass backs, and only combine when you trust your neighbor' thanks trevor you dimwit. Worst run, mail it in camp ever. Kids leaving halfway thru. Got news for you brown. Yale plays quality ball, you fire it long. Total garbage. Disinterest from coaches. Steer clear

Yes we are suckers for shelling out dineros.

So are all of these ivy camps like their way of padding applications numbers by buying the names from SAT folks and suckers paying for it?

We drove a bit to go. Disinterested coaches who did in fact say play it forward and chase during the two hours of scrimmage. After lunch break a heading drill and more launching the ball. A huge chunk of kids scratching their heads and parents grumbling about it being a huge waste of time.

No thanks Brown. Congratulations on your limp ID camp.

Why are you all so mad?
What if Browns style of play is Direct? What if they feel the best way to ID talent in a 1 day camp is to ignore IQ (for now) and focus on speed/skills on O and D

Sounds like this may have actually been a legitimate ID camp - hoping to find Max 3 legit recruits worth following - and you parents are mad that it wasn’t a more fun T-Shirt and Skills day in Providence.

Maybe. It seems they do boot and chase. Why not just have a kick ball game. That would be fun. Everyone pays 180 bucks to slam the ball. 4 fouls you are out, no spinnsies

Browns style is direct.Yale played much better and should have been a Yale victory if it weren’t for VAR reversal of PK.If that call we’re at home where brown played most of their games it would have been a foul.

Don't know much about anything at Brown except Yale plays soccer, Brown not so much. Looks like Brown recruits athletes, Yale had real soccer players

I know you are upset about the quality of the camp and feel like the money was wasted but look at it this way. You learned something about the type of players they are recruiting and your player doesn’t fit that style of play. Money well spent if you learned this wasn’t for your kid and now you can look for a better fit. Put this in the category of the endless pit you have already thrown soccer money into. A lot of parents would pay 180 to avoid a four year land mine.

Brown went undefeated in the Ivy League by playing direct. They like athletes, because athletes win games. Losing while playing the right way counts for something at u12 - not in college.

At some point your stylish little dribbler with the high IQ will need to run with the big dogs.
Sounds like Brown had a legit camp to ID athletes that could play in their system. you paid $180 for the chance to be IDed. Service provided, she didn't stand out.

Players do not understand that at the college level it is about winning, not development. College coaches keep their jobs only if they can win. Just like every sport in the world, teams have a style of play and they will look for players that fit that style. Brown, like the poster stated is a very direct athletic team, hence why they recruited BR so hard. She fits their style of play perfectly. They are not looking for the technical, high soccer IQ small player but the super athletic in your face run through a brick wall. Players need to ask coaches what they are looking for in a player and watch games of the colleges they want to attend to find the right fit. This is the problem with youth soccer is that players just want to go to a school but have no idea what they want. Also get used to rejection now so when you are recruited and sit the bench because you picked a school for the wrong soccer reason. Most players transfer after their first year at D1 because they choose poorly.

Why in the world would you pay for an expensive ID camp without watching how the team plays first, either online or in person, to see if their style of play fits your player? Most parents will scout out a team before joining a new club for a single year contract. This is four years of an expensive college. Go watch a couple games and even a practice or two before considering, if soccer is a major factor in your school decision.
