Just moved back don't recognize the soccer landscape

    Hi,

Just moved back after several years up north. Have kids from 6-18. When we left one of my kids played for Maitland and another with ACYS. These weren't huge clubs but they were ok and fit our needs. Now I can't seem to find either club.

Anyway looking for a good program for a beginner u7 and a competitive for my 13 year old born in 2006.

We live in the Metrowest area and really don't want to spend hours each day driving to and from practice. Neither kid has interest in DA or ECNL just want a solid club where there is good coaching and no need to travel out of state regularly.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    Troll alert

Only way this could be more of a troll post would be if it had a hashtag @realDonaldTrump.

And Metrowest is a Massachusetts thing, kinda gave yourself away on that one.

Now, just to be sure lets see the denial post that will appear within the hour....

    Clock starts now...

This is a GPS staff member trying to get their name out there since they are hurting with numbers and have an ax to grind with Maitland and the new Winter Park club that they have lost a lot of players to.

The person said they moved down from the north. Pretty sure Massachusetts qualifies as the north.

How about just being helpful and letting the person know where to go in the area he said he is at? Isn't even looking for DA or ECNL level. Just a good club that is close.

I'm not from Orlando so I can' help you. Not everyone on here is a pecker head.

Metrowest is a part of Orlando just north of Universal and west of downtown. To be clear we are in Orlando.....

Sounds like Rush would be the best option for you based on what you are looking for and relative proximity compared to other clubs. Maitland still exists but weekday practices would be a pain in the ass to get to. ACYS merged into Rush this past year so they no longer exist.

GGS - golden goal soccer are in Ocoee. Or Florida Rush, with Rush being the way bigger club would be the closest. Or even Clermont soccer club. Some teams for rush train at the NTC in clermont so if you would be willing to do that, clermont could be an option. There is also R9 which is Ronaldo soccer they are not to far from you.

One acys team left for his age group, try them they look like they do not have a bench.
I think they practice in winter park area.

All the way to California. There's nothing Fl has to offer.

Rush is as good as any team in California’s. This punk family would be lucky to play on the 5th team. Hands down the best club in the country

FL Rush is average at best. Rush in general is the chain restaurant of soccer. Same goes for GPS.

skip Rush. too much money for poor training and leadership. GGS is growing and with Machado as its head it has true name recognition. from posts I have seen they are also branching out towards Dr Phillips. R9 seems to be OK and due to name behind it they at least have $$ to back them up. plus they have their own facility so don't get screwed with losing fields

Hahaha! This is joke. GGS coaches already contacting under clubs looking to leave. Machado got demoted at OC cause he couldn’t cut at a coach.

Don’t know much about R9 so that may be an option.
