ODP is the best thing you can do. Great exposure. Great training. Awesome competition. Sofa king important for development.

It's another avenue to play with other good players....maybe even play a different style of soccer. Like anything else in this youth soccer landscape it has pros and cons.

Pool Training
Age groups do their pool training at different times, even different months. So its hard to say when the state team for a certain age will be chosen. But your kid should now be in the pool by now if they are to have a shot. At least from what I know.
ODP is still good because not all kids have access to a DA team. The training is pretty good. I suggest people try it just for the training. Don't expect your kid to necessarily catch their eye. Lots of kids to look at.

Dunno, my son has been doing it for a few years now. Made pools on first go around, and has been on state team and gone to AL the past 2yrs. I think its a good experience, get thrown in with a handful of other decent players and coaches that you have never met before and go compete with other groups. For the price tag is seems better than other camps and training opportunities around Fl. Will likely do it again this year, but we are under no delusion that this will lead to scholarships or to the NT, its just decent training and a good life experience for a teen.... get away from mommy and daddy for a week and go all in on the sport, have fun, and have better competition than a standard local week at a residency camp (like USF etc).
