Are NWSL players or referees wrong?

Article on how NWSL referees need to improve, but reading it and looking at the videos my thought is that the players themselves must improve. The referee isn’t there to tame a three ring circus and pro soccer players don’t need a red card to know that throwing punches or slide tackling someone’s ankle isn’t part of the game. Multi-game suspensions and fines from the league are what’s needed if players want to act like idiots.

Both. Women need to stop playing dirty. If they continue, refs need to put a quick and solid stop to it. You don’t see the refs having a problem calling the same fouls on men! Why the double standard? It’s causing a much higher percentage of injuries on the womens’ side. See the same thing for youth girls vs boys.

How can the kids stop playing dirty when the bigger players who foul all the time get all the extras. Extra training, extra games, etc.

What are you talking about? Thread is about NWSL pro league, not kiddie ball.

Ok, how is this not a foul? The ref is looking right at it.

The writer of the article seems to agree with the ref. She grabbed the runner's leg (nearly broke her leg while doing so) and didn't have control of the ball. Should have been a red card and a PK and a fine.

                Home field refs.

Carli Lloyd agreed with the ref too in the article even though the foul was against her own teammate. If that NFL kicker job doesn’t work out, maybe she could become a NWSL referee.

Lloyd probably didn't want to piss off AH in the article. AH probably has a permit to carry. She lives in FL.
