Shocked La Salle isn't in there. What is USA Today doing?

Can't even get the name or town right regarding North Kingstown..not sure where USA today gets their rankings.. 2 of those NH teams are D2..and all 3 NH teams have a loss (or tie)..

Nauset in MA isn't even Top 5 according to maxpreps

Good start for both North Kingstown teams though..

Yes, they are ranked by USA Today, however, do not think for a minute that these rankings are at all correct. What is this based on? USA has people scouting New England HS Soccer?
I call BS. I do not have a player on the boys side but this definitely does not appear to be a proper ranking regarding New England teams. Some outstanding teams that are better than 75% of what is listed that play in tougher divisions that are not listed.
I think it is safe to assume they are just going by records.

I have not seen the video but read the details in the Journal. What I was surprised by (call me naive sorry) was La Salle's comment. You CANNOT handle a situation like this internally.
Where is the letter to the La Salle community regarding how wrong this is? Where is the letter of apology? What is the punishment? Lets hope La Salle suspends these boys for the season. (Perhaps from the School?) and RIIL should be weighing in as we have a clear CODE OF CONDUCT state wide that needs to be enforced. This behavior negatively effects every team esp. our student athletes of color who are watching to see what the adults in the room do.

Rankings

Rankings are done by the coach of the team. They simply send in their stats and make a case to be ranked. It is that simple. MB was ranked a couple of years ago #6 in the country when the coach REFUSED to play division one so they could sandbag D2. His reasoning was they "didn't know if they would be good going forward" They were forced up and doing just fine. Another beauty of a private having to play their recruits in the RIIL and then actually believe they are fairly competing.

RIIL Response is pathetic

From the Projo article. RIIL president Tom Mezzanotte states that this issue is a school issue not a league issue. Talk about failing in your duties to be a leader. I forget what fine high school did he graduate from?

But RIIL has rules and regs and every player sign's a Code of Conduct for RIIL.

Why are they signing if the RIIL will turn the other way?
