    Stars Cup- Fc Stars Boys

I typically don’t like when people describe a team as “Rec soccer”. At the so called highest levels of play DA/ecnl etc you will see poor play. BUT what I witnessed today at the u14 and u13 for a couple of FC stars Elite teams was beyond bad. I could pick a handful of “rec” players from my town and beat the stars elite club teams. What a waste of time.

I’m the parent of a Stars player (girl) and what I see of the boys trainings look to be right on par with the girls. They have good coaches. They get a heck of a lot more than they would get with some daddy volunteer Rec coach.

On par would mean they’re far behind on the boy’s side

Why are you standing around stalking teenage boys?

Same reason as you. If watching my kids play soccer is stalking other kids then I guess I am guilty. I never said anything about the coaches, just the poor level of play. I question why I pay all this money to clubs on average teams for my kids. Never mind what I watched yesterday. Just not good.

So, I guess you are an authority on judging the level of play in soccer ? And your kid is better than the “average” team he plays on? Mmmmmmkay.

And this is the problem. Parents can’t recognize good play from bad. When to just play town soccer and when to play club. You have your choice as a consumer to pay and play. Serious question, at what point do you say club soccer has lost its value for your child? This craziness has to stop at some point.

So then your kid is playing in those crappy games for an “average” team... maybe he should play “rec”....

I have one talented and one average player. He should be playing rec. In fairness it’s hard to say to the average player you can’t play club. I am as much of the problem as everyone else. Actually both my kids would do just fine in town “rec” play. Nothing is going to happen after HS soccer anyways. Let’s see, I have spent well over 20k for two kids to play club and still watch terrible soccer. When does this madness stop??????

That’s on you... if you’re really that bothered by spending the $$, you need to have a conversation with your “average “ player about it (or both kids). As for your “talented “ player—he’s a boy, so if he is that good, he can try out for Revs Academy, which is free. Those of us with “talented” girls pay whether it’s GDA, ECNL, etc.

I actually see the value in HS soccer for more than just the soccer aspect of the experience, so no he won’t be playing for the revs. But regardless, just because your daughter plays ecnl that means squat. Which team? Regional? White? Green ? Orange? Purple? U get my point....

First, never said whether my daughter was GDA, ECNL or otherwise.

Second—if you don’t understand the girls’ leagues, stay in your lane. I’m sure the “HS experience” is the reason he isn’t going to play in DA... But here you are, trashing the kids that your kid is playing against —why don’t you confirm your kid’s team and league? You seem to have strong opinions on the lack of quality, so be clear.

For the record, my daughter is ECNL (not regional) at Stars. I certainly recognize that there is value (and there are quality players)in GDA, ECNL regional and NPL, as kids develop at different rates...

Some of those U13 boys that you’re insulting here could be dominating your talented kid by U15/16...
