Yea, ECNL is now just nothing more than a PDA regional league. Same teams, same kids couldn’t cut it it in GDA finals last year. The only excuse for LAFC is that kids quit then team to stay in GDA.

Just another example of how watered down these leagues are.

Not in my experience. My older kid's FSA ECNL team won one, drew 2, and lost one vs. PDA over four years.

One thing is certain. OW isn't competitive in the GDA and certainly wouldn't be in ECNL

NEFC wasn't a top team during their stint in the ECNL and they spank OW.

As far as PDA is concerned, their talent was clearly split last year. I don't care which club you play for, no one can field multiple top level teams.

Ow would not be competitive in ECNL, in part because it pushed it's better players (those who would make h.s. varsity) away. That and daddy coaching. Oh, and lack of player development. Nice veinless dogs though, fantastic raffle ticket prizes, and great tournament!

Are you seriously whinning.........what about the notion that nevermind PDA and what they accomplished this year. Great Job PDA how about that..........oh how about this....and maybe I am crazy but what it ever strike you that OUR CONFERENCE is probably the BEST Conference or one of the best CONFERENCES in the country for Girls Soccer. PDA winning the 3 National Titles is something that yes is great but what is greater is that on a WEEK IN and WEEK OUT basis our teams battle all year long and sure they are the ones that represented our Conference in the 5 age groups the NORTHEAST Conference represented the EAST COAST to the fullest.

I am sure if the West Coast would have won all those championships or put the teams that the Northeast did your dialogue would have been very different as WE can't compete with those teams of the West or down in Texas. Sorry but the the BEST SOCCER is played in the NORTHEAST and that's a FACT. Don't believe all the rumors and all the "they play soccer all year long" crap. Here in the NORTHEAST our kids are well prepared and well schooled on this game of soccer. Again not taking anything away from PDA but more giving credit to OUR CONFERENCE for being as competitive as it is that we put numerous of teams in the Finals, Semi-Finals, Quarter-Finals.

My dialogue is this. i dont care about competing with those teams. I care about my child competing in College. i care about her putting herself in the best position to do that. The end. lets just see how many of these kids are actually relevant in College.

Thats the problem, people keep score on this stuff without ever really looking at how it plays out.

Again and sorry for saying "whining", you are correct this is 100% about your child and that they are in the correct place and getting developed the way she needs to be developed to again you are 100% right that she is PREPARED to COMPETE in college. My point was and is that in the Northeast I think she is in pretty good hands whether its GDA or ECNL or NPL. I really feel that the letters on your shirt or the letters of the league that your child plays in is irrelevant to the passion inside of your child. It seems that you have the right attitude in that you know this is 100% about her. I hope and know she will be prepared as you as a parent I am sure you will have her in the right place. Keep up the great work and you are right NEVER SETTLE.

holy sh-t did i just see people agree and hope for the best for each other on talking Soccer? This is rare and good to see.

We all want to win and have fun and have the kids enjoy their experiences, while also keeping an eye on a bigger prize at the end. Whether you do it by going to a big poweherhouse like PDA or you do it by a different route in DA or a smaller ECNL clun, in the end just enjoy it. It will all be over before too long and the kids need to not get caught up chasing the "next" thing and not enjoying their present. Only young once!

A team that practices 2x a week and wins a national championship? Sounds like they are not really being tested, and may have a huge wake up call when they start their college camp against teams that practice more and win less meaningless championships.
