Every time I look on Facebook i see my friends whose kids are kids or forwards talking about scoring goals. What am I supposed to brag about a well timed tackle, a devastating well timed slide tackle? None of those sell as well as scoring. The tragedy is all my kids play defense... I am truly shamed.

You are truly a fidiot. My daughter plays defender and we are pretty proud when they can shutout or hold a decent team to scoring only 1 goal maybe. Defense wins games. Ask the goal scoring princesses how they feel when playing against tough defenders. Or maybe your satisfaction could be when your daughters opponents don't take to social media about scoring much after playing against your daughter. The is some good satisfaction. That’s our skewed culture. How about mids who control the game but never get the glory? Until soccer keeps stats on 1v1 wins , good passes, errors, etc, the only stat we have is goals.
