    No HOPE for WPU

In case you thought the City of Pembroke Pines could help WPU

Over the past week, I have spoken with Mr. Brian Tuffin several times about the election issue and the West Pines/Weston girl’s teams. First regarding the election. Section 6.2 of the City’s Facility Use Agreement (FUA) requires that the Board of Director’s consist of at least 75% Pines residents. The current board makeup does not consist of 75% Pines residents. Section 6.2 further requires that if the club is not in compliance that they must select Pines residents only to bring the club into compliance. According to Mr. Tuffin, if this election had taken place the club would still not have met the 75% requirement. The board is currently seven members. Mr. Tuffin advised that the board is going to reduce to three members. This is a decision of the club and not a requirement of the City. The decision of the board to postpone the election is a club decision. As for the West Pines/Weston (WPW) elite teams, Mr. Tuffin assured me that while the selection process for the WPW elite teams is complete, West Pines is still forming teams for the girls that did not make it on the WPW teams.

In both emails below, you have asked the City to “step in”. The City does not get involved in business decision of the club. Both the postponement of the elections and the alliance created with Weston are business decisions. I know that is not what you want to hear. I know that some parents are upset with the two recent decisions the club has made. I assure you that I am monitoring the situation very closely. My focus with the West Pines travel soccer club is to ensure the club is upholding their requirements of the Facility Use Agreement. I have asked Mr. Tuffin to look into your situation directly to make sure you are getting all the information you need to make decisions about your family’s involvement in the organization.

If anything is not done before Memorial Day weekend then it will be too late. We can start a new chat just to post about how great West Pines was and remember all the good times.

....not over. It is definitely an embarrassment to the club and to all involved that certain people clearly believe the rule of law to be inapplicable to them and that they may run the club as their own and as their own personal bank account. It is not over- and after that, a strong of actual actions and good deeds, not promises of such, must be done for any hope to regain the trust of members, former members and possible new ones.

There is zero doubt- this is an embarrassment and the two he’s behind it should be embarrassed. But when the people ignoring the rule of law to be able to finalize their plans to bind WPU to contracts in a way to hand over the keys to another club - are at Vista and Regional rather than Chapel Trail, it is likely hard to feel like slime - probably feel more like a hero by the people there who are happy about another club’s money, revenue and higher licensed coaches flowing in to prop up and save a girls DA on the brink of collapse.

This is an embarrassment and beyond explanation. The only glimmer of hope is that there are well intentioned people with a backbone stepping up their game to help. It just takes some time to do that in a way that is better than what WPU wants to remember. It cannot be more of the same.

Again, this argument. Leave the club no members no club. I am going to say this, how stupid can you be. You get punch in the face and you come back again for another punch in the face, at this time the club is not at fault , it’s you the parents for coming back again.

Contact no more reps of club, but other coaches and clubs nearby to get your kids elsewhere and stop with the drama.

If your there next season you like the mistreatment.

Miramar despite having ecnl sucks - German? That tells us a lot. Weston, no issues? Ask those who play on teams with sons of coaches and directors. How about that 2004 DA team.

Miramar 1000000 times better than Pines.

Stay away though. Keep your Pines loser mentality out of here.

The laws of the United States, Florida and the City of Pembroke Pines do not apply to Mr. Brain Tuffin, Mr. Hector Ramos, Mr. Julio Echemendia, Mrs. Jeanette Lozada, Mrs. Sara Chang, Mrs. Maralys Samudio, and Mrs. Lindsey. They sent misleading letters about postponing elections to comply with the 75% residency rule in the contract with the city, yet they also supported Mr. Tuffin to illegally eliminate TWO Pembroke Pines residents from the board elections. Theycould have achieved contract compliance just having the schedule elections for Affiliate Director. Shame on all seven members of the board!!!!!

Never STFU is our first step in the long list to actions that are already in motion. The whole board will regret getting involved in this corruption, as sports, federal, state and city authorities will have no option but to act. The evidence is overwhelming!
