    Thoughts on beachside u12 academy?

    #2
Something doesn't seem right, they have 26 players listed on their current DA roster, need to downsize to maybe around 18 next year for the U13 team and are holding a second round of tryouts next month. Are they that unhappy with their current players AND what they've seen already? How many are they looking for/cutting or moving down to premier?

There is no need to create another Thread for beachside.

Beachside is a non factor. Best Fairfield county boys go to NYCFC

Facts regarding number of CT boys at NYCFC are below:

          U13 - 3
          U14 - 1 (Waterbury)
          U15 - 2
          U17 - 3
          U19 - 6

The treatment of the Beachside girls teams should tell you all you need to know about that club and the people running it.

Beachside coach complained about our coach today to JS about a 9-0 result. They were abysmal. Heard the BS Coach is creating his own club 😳

Was this the U12 Academy team you beat 9-0?

that seems to be a lot to my eyes considering that the population of NYC (8.6 million) is more than 9X the population of Fairfield County (950 thousand). If you include Westchester (980k), Rockland (330k), and Nassau (1.37 million) to the NYC total, that's 11.3 million, or nearly 12X the Fairfield County population. So out of a total of 90 roster spots (18 X 5), to have 14 (15.5%) when the raw #s would imply there should be half that amount, I'd say, yes the best Fairfield county kids are playing at NYCFC and they are disproportionately represented on the rosters.

You’re obviously really good at google and numbers. You’re also really good at framing your own narrative. I’m sure you also realize that numbers do not automatically equate to “the best” right? You realize that “the best” do not necessarily choose to play for NYCFC right? Thanks for the population data though, I didn’t realize that Rockland county only had 330k, who knew!

that's fair; some may choose to play for NYRB. but the original comment (not me) was "beachside is a non-factor, the best FC kids play for NYCFC" and the rebuttal was to publish the #s of FC kids on NYCFC squads. I just took the opportunity to show that the rebuttal seemed odd given the relative demographics. if the "best" FC kids don't necessarily play on NYCFC then this is an even better narrative, thanks.
