    ECNL Next Year

I see on FSA's website for tryouts that they are offering ECNL, Regional ECNL and NPL next year. CFC is offering ECNL and it looks like ECNL2.

Does anyone know the actual difference? I thought NPL was just going to be rebranded ECNL2?

The actual difference is that the third team for each age group will bring in approximately $60,000 extra for the DiTs. They need these extra teams as they are hoping to raise enough additional money next year to renovate the 2nd half bath in their 7th guest room. Please consider a donation to help this poor family.

You are correct - ECRL is NPL rebranded and would be their B teams. Not sure what they mean by NPL. Their C teams are state teams and do not belong in NPL.

You see it when you register for tryouts, it shows ECNL, ECNL RL, NPL, and CT. I'm not here for all the FSA bashing or any other club....I'm legitimately just trying to figure out the landscape next year here in CT. FSA has sent nothing about the overall structure.

Can't even imagine FSA doing 4 teams, they can barely manage 3 levels. It's possible that their computer system is just set up that way to cover all the different types of teams that they have throughout the club. It may vary by age and gender. Best bet is call the club and ask about your specific child's status

Yes let’s put our CT team in NPL. Good idea. FSA can barely string enough decent players for ECNL, let alone make THREE competitive teams. Can you imagine traveling three or four hours to play a FSA CT team? What a joke.

NPL is not what it used to be either .... all of those teams went to GDA.

Except for the ECNL teams, those FSA teams are awful and not worth the money.

is CFC struggling so much with their ECNL teams that they are having tryouts tonight?

Nice try at a dig but no. Any club will look at outsiders to see if there's a hidden gem (not likely but they play along), plus they need to create their final CFCU team for U14. That will be heavy CFC players but also have some outsiders.

Totally. They should have waited until tomorrow night, like FSA, or Friday, like OW, so that they would not appear so desparate.

thanks for making the point that this really has nothing to do with the kids or allowing them to enjoy their seasons or work into their current commitments, or really, just grow up. just a bunch of aged, ego filled coaches and organizations who believe they are the end all and be all of Connecticut soccer. it's no shocker these kids end up miserable and burned out...all so you can brag about "D1" commits and weekend score lines. I remember the time when Arsenal (CFC) and Oakwood were in it for the right reasons. Had great reputations. And were the pinnacle of youth soccer in the state. They've all become nothing more than watered down shells of what they were. If anyone is wondering why the soccer numbers are down in CT and why the Athletes are pursuing other sports, just scroll through some of the nonsensical, whose is bigger chatter on these forums.
