Good point ! Why don’t they just place them back into rcl? Rcl is a laughing stock right now that should not be taken seriously . The top teams in rcl now are the equivalent of pspl premier . If pspl had any sense they would drop the birth year mandate and be the go to
        League .

This is also true on the girls side. Too many ECNL teams in this state. RCL is a joke.

Too many damn leagues, period--leagues that seldom test themselves against outside competition. DA (at club level) was useful in some ways... but fractured the club landscape. Many clubs seemed more interested in using DA to try and set themselves apart from non-DA clubs and win recruiting battles, rather than offering a better product. Boys ECNL doesn't seem to be much different, other than it might now "allow" more clubs to separate themselves from the riffraff at high school ages, rather than either get serious and run a full-fledged academy or go back to RCL.

One of the interesting rumours out there is that US Soccer's new president, as part of getting himself elected, essentially made a deal with representatives from USYS and US Club to essentially kill, or at least drastically scale back, the DA program (boys and girls), in exchange for their votes for him at the election last year. Both of the established youth organizations didn't really like the federation encroaching on their "turf", apparently. Since Sunil Gulati left, it seems US Soccer has lost a lot of interest in the DA, if nothing else. Perhaps decentralization is good--but not if it's simply US Club in the driver's seat instead. At best, that's "meet the new boss, same as the old boss". At worst, boys ECNL might start to resemble the girls side--focusing on wealthy suburban clubs, focusing on college recruiting and showcases, and ignoring and marginalizing (if not showing outright contempt for) players who can't afford the travel (and clubs made up of mainly such players). Problems that the DA and US Soccer at least TRIED to fix, but US Club has never given an indication they care about.

Agree with nearly all of what you are saying , except ...... how has DA tried to change anything ? It’s still pay to play and costs an arm and a leg !

How do the clubs co-exist in both US Club Soccer and US Youth Soccer? My understanding is that DA is the elite league for US Youth, and therefore WA Youth and Seattle Youth. ECNL is US Club Soccer. How do those associations let the clubs pick and choose? Also does that mean that the top teams can't compete in State Cup?

I’ll give you a 3/10 . That’s just for effort as you are seriously lacking any comedic value .
