Is there any benefit to these types of sites? I know most people say you can do the process yourself. But has anyone set up the free pages and had it help? Not interested in hearing from people who say it's stupid. I know a few athletes playing other sports where they have helped. I'm specifically asking for soccer.

Local smaller universities and colleges will undoubtably watch your child and express interest to their coach directly. Smaller schools farther away rely on sites like the ones you listed as a resource to find out who may be interested in their school because they have much smaller recruiting budgets. I hope this helps.

You have to attack it like looking for a job - multi-pronged. There's no easy one-stop methods.
