Just moved here from out of State—SSFA?

We just moved here 2 days ago from out of State, really enjoying the sunny weather! From what we hear on the streets SSFA is the place to go for competitive soccer, true? How are their fields? Can we go try it out or bring the checkbook?

Don't listen to these fools; you didn't provide a full picture; how old? boys or girls? and where do you live; how far do you want to drive. there are plenty of good competitive programs available; let you child play with a few club teams to see if he likes the group and you like the group of parents as well.

My best advice is that if you have recently moved to that area from out of state to just buckle your seatbelt... the south fla soccer parents are absolutely ****ing nuts. They make the rest of us feel sane and balanced, but then again maybe if you are one of them they won't be swearing at your kids and threatening them in spanish constantly.

Boca Raton is a great place to live. It's sad but depending on where you move from most of S.FL is a huge drop off in terms of clubs soccer organization. If you have a daughter it's best to just have her stay within your local area and play for the local club. GDA is a joke at Weston and SFFA and there is no real ECNL program. If you have a boy good enough to play DA, then any of the 3 S.FL DA programs are fine enough. But if you are moving from Boston, DC, Philadelphia, NYC, Atlanta, Texas or CA, then expect a massive drop in coaching and organization, as S. FL offers nothing. Armada and Clearwater get it right IMO. The rest in FL are sad!

I'm new to Florida as well. I have a boy born in 2003 who is a strong midfielder. By the looks of recent performances south Florida has the highest level for the age. Am I missing something?

Look at the DA results. All three male DA programs can play and all get good results vs. programs outside FL. Girls GDA is shocking, but the boys do fine, however they could be so much better. Looking forward to Inter Miami CF DA.

I'm not sure which criteria you want to use but if your looking at straight win/loss, Boca has one more win than Weston in the U15/16 age. however, most of those teams plays 2002 vs 2003; all those 2002 will age up. If your looking for the best DA program Boca, Weston, and Kendal are competitive. Int Miami will have a team, any of those teams and programs will provide what you need, find the right fit for your son. A couple of losses one way or the other shouldn't change your mind.

This post is mostly correct. Obviously, if you can make the fully funded Miami MLS that would be the program of choice.
