same issue being discussed on the last few pages of this thread http://talking-soccer.com/TS4/showth...=1#post2412910.
Almost no D1 athletics program runs in the black, but $40M in the red is unsustainable. Something has to give

Soccer will be the last men’s sport to go at UConn. Golf, baseball or track will go 1st.
But everyone had to know going to the AAC would crush the budget for athletics. Travel for UConn in this conference is ridiculous. Football is an embarrassment being the worst ever college football team this year. They honestly should get rid of football all together. They get horrible crowds nobody really cares about the team. Students don’t support it.

Fire Ray Reid and the rest of the coaching staff and perhaps UCONN won’t be a joke to the soccer community.

Get someone that cares about UConn and the program will thrive again. Get back to the big east and make football independant. Ray Reid and This AD have to get the heave ho

The mistake was the CT Lawmakers supporting football going Div 1 and all the costs associated (stadium, etc.). CT is not a football state or a pro team state, so we will never and have never commit to supporting local teams. It was a joke when they proposed it and it’s a bigger joke today. Team sucks, coach sucks, allowed to pay his son to be on staff though he isnt capable. People should pay. We lay off state workers that help people to give money to meatheads
