Why not just spin up some other conclusions based on absolutely no factual data?

        Here's one:

The percentage of people who think you know what you are talking about:
People Who Actually Coach These Programs (HS or Club) - 10%
People Who Watch From The Parents Side - 75%

        Prove me wrong.

Yes it is that time of year

            - Enjoy your kid playing if they're still in the chase; congratulate the winners and those who made it this far.
            - if not, move on to club and enjoy them playing there.
            - get a life

The purpose was to trigger your reaction and make you think. Be honest with yourself, when you are watching a game, HS or club,

                    1. how many of your direct play launches out of the back result in a turnover? I bet 80%

                    2. how many of your shots from distance actually go in? I bet 10%

Yet these are the most common plays on many teams, especially in HS. How many times have you said, why are they screwing around in the back like that? Or when you move into the opponents half and get to the 30, just shoot it!

The only reaction you’re triggering here is the disgust at how dumb you are. You’re referring to the 30 yard line for soccer...and “direct play launches” . Enough already.

30 meaning you are outside the 20, direct play launches meaning your defenders launch the ball forward 30 yards rather than play it out of the back. 99% of people would know what was meant, and i suspect you did as well. You just soccer snobbed it to act superior. you are either a HS direct play launch fan or a tool. your choice.

And what does the 20 refer to?

Midfield, " the box" , the penalty area, the " 18 " , the " six " , the goal box , end line, touchline , etc, that's the terminology I am familiar with . HS or Club, FIFA, USSF whatever.

                            " 30 " ? " 20 " ?
I never heard those terms. I have only been in soccer for many decades, maybe I missed something.

Don't forget "penalty spot", "center circle" and "corner arc".
