He can't wait for the signing picture to be posted on the club's social media account. He'll make sure to send it to the local newspaper too.

This new date and process is a pain in the back side. Most college coaches have not sent out the paper work and players don’t realize that you don’t have to sign today. The NCAA did not factor in budgets being approved for scholarships or acceptance to schools academically. College coaches also did not communicate to players how this would work and leaving a lot of players in panic mode and stressed for no reason.

The new date is the start of open signing until July, maybe August.

It's the first year. Everyone is learning. That said it's kind of stupid to have it this early when some players don't have their final school acceptance letters yet. Waiting until Feb also gives players a little more time to change their minds, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

You're making excuses for soccer coaches. Most other sports sign today. It should actually be easier for schools to do it all at once.

More than you I would wager.

Our High School is doing a group signing next Wednesday, obviously it is not the real forms, but is a photo op!

Nope. My oldest skipped both the school and club pics last year. Just not their thing.
The younger one may or may not do the same next year. I don't begrudge kids being excited or even families. But it's obvious the TV thread OP is a little over eager

The new NLI day looks like a bust, at least media wise. Few announcements. Only one I saw was UConn.

You obviously know nothing. This ain’t D3. If a kid is signing an honest to goodness NLI the admissions part is really just a formality. D1 coaches get automatic admits. They just need to stay within the lines they are given. If the paper the kid is offered is a real NLI there is nothing to wait on, the kid is in and they are getting money. It’s cut and dry. Anyone who is waiting on an admissions letter ain’t signing a NLI.
