Crazy Division. Would like to see the Captiva team scrimmage a few of these teams. Think they would mop up.

The good news is that if they win the First Division this year, they will be moved up to the Premier Division next year, and have their shot at playing against some of the best FYSA teams in their age group at U18.

Must be your son’s 1st year in Kaptiva. Kaptiva played a scrimmage late
last season vs one of these teams you talk about. Why don’t you
ask around see how that went? Let’s just say Kaptiva got mopped up pretty bad.
Why don’t you 1st try winning some tournaments and playing some descent teams
before assuming your son plays on a great team. If your son is playing
in the 2nd division of the FL State Premier league chances are , you are not
playing very good teams.
Have your coach set up a scrimmage versus one of the top 4 premier league teams.
Then you will have better understanding if your team is really that good or not. If you
want to go even further up the ladder, play a DA or a Ecnl team.

U17 premier looks to be sorting itself out. Old Ives Estates team and Doral dont look as dominant, but they are still up there. CES is still up there. Chargers and Key Biscayne look like they have run their course. Kaptiva might be 2 or 3 of those teams in Premier, but they would be in the bottom half

so it went from "they will mop up the competition" to "hey, no one said we are the best, we are a good team".

Forget playing and winning friendlies, that means nothing. Half of the time team’s don’t even put their best players in those games or the players don’t take it very seriously (hence the word FRIEND - ly).
Win big tournaments, showcases, leagues etc.
Play tournaments outside of the state, win those.
If your U17 and you have never won a big league or tournament and I’m not talking anout winning West Pines or Wellington , I’d say you’re a little late to start pumping up your team and saying your any good. Actually you’re extremely late. I’m sorry but it’s the truth

Let it die. Parent finally excited about kids soccer team, realized the mistake of posting on this blog, and tried to move on. Nothing to see here.
