Heat Index of 102 tomorrow, is that too hot to play? I would assume the clubs/school will cancel any games scheduled.

Usually the field being played at comes into the equation. Turf fields in summer can be +10-15 degrees easily over the actual temp. There is a point where liability is the main issue. I am fine with them either postponing practice to later in the day or canceling altogether if we're looking at turf fields with a real feel of 115. If you have grass fields you usually shouldn't have to worry as much.Comment

Our HS AD pushed games back and hour to get a little relief. As the previous poster mentioned, the fields will be well over 100 degrees tomorrow! But if they hydrate they will be fine!Comment

The heat isn’t the only thing, it’s the “real feel”. The NCAA doesn’t allow players to train in over a certain heat index without mandatory restrictions. Don’t think it’s an issue? Look up the recent death from heat illness at UMaine.Comment
