Boys: DAP v ECNL v NPL

There is little debate . If you want to play at the highest level of boys youth soccer the DAP is the way to go and the place to be. However, for those wondering about ECNL then for the Massachusetts teams and leagues, there is little difference with the first NPL league...except that the ECNL teams would be at the bottom of the NPL division. The ECNL league is young and college recruitment has not really caught on to the league. There were more college coaches at the NEFC, both Memorial Day Tournaments’s, and any of the better regional tournaments.

Really? College coaches at NEFC and GPS Memorial Day tournaments? Where were they positioned? Did not see a single one my friend. NOT ONE!!!

I can tell you certainty though, that they are at every DAP game both with the Revs and Bolts all throughout the calendar season and both DAP showcases are absolutely loaded with them. They take players and parents aside after the games for a "chat" accompanied with business cards and contact information.

What? He had the Bayern uniform on. Doesn't that alone attract college looks?

Actually, yes. College recruiting very successful for the first team of GPS. However, it falls off quickly for the other thousand each age group.

1st u have to have talent .2 you have to reach out or coach reach out 3be realistic to say college coaches don't show up for those tournaments is false.

This is such an NEFC employee trolling. Trying to put NPL in a bigger light by downplaying ECNL. Why do you need to do that? Just recognize that ECNL is different than NPL and move on.

Saying that ECNL would be at the bottom of the NPL division is laughable. Not all of them would be at the top after their first year but almost all of them made the finals in the tournaments over Memorial Day and in the State Cup.

What are you talking about? Virtually all of the Bolts boys ECNL teams and all of the Stars boys ECNL teams were knocked out of the State Cup in the first round. Lone exception was the Bolts U15 team, which were the state cup winners.

Fabric much? Son played with Revs. At showcase, there are large amounts of college coaches. The regular game certainly not that much. Just as with any player if the player is smart and contacts coaches they will go see them if there is interest.

NPL U18/19 top two to three teams has very comparable teams to DA. Have seen both Revs/Bolts/Seacoast/Oakwood and many NPL team play at the older age group. DA is probably more talent skill wise, but a few NPL teams could beat them playing direct. ECNL teams could not compete with DA, sorry just a fact.

No NPL not nearly on same level with DA, that's just either wishful thinking or you know nothing about the game. The top NPL are comparable with the *local* ECNL this year but that will change fast. Why else would so many of the top NPL players attend ECNL tryouts?

I suppose we will find out soon enough. The top NPL boys teams have playoffs with the top ECNL boys teams at the end of June in Lancaster. I don't think any of the local ECNL boys teams are going to qualify.

You need to think beyond a few days. The long-term soccer landscape has changed on the Boys side. That's why GPS and NEFC players attended ECNL tryouts. It's really not that complicated.
