    "All in clubs"

Because this guy seems so twisted up about things.

FC Stars, Michigan Hawks, PDA and More are ‘ALL-IN’ for 2018-19
RICHMOND, VA (April 19, 2018) – The Girls Elite Clubs National League is excited to announce that FC Stars, Michigan Hawks, and PDA will be “All-In” clubs in the league in 2018-19. These clubs place the ECNL as the aspirational training and development environment for all female players within the club, and at the top of their competitive pyramid.

Representing 3 of the most successful clubs in the history of American girls soccer, in both player development and competitive accomplishment, these clubs will join the incredible list of 79 “All-In” clubs across the country in the ECNL in 2018-19, with more still to come.

“The ECNL was created to serve players, coaches, and clubs within a holistic development environment that collaboratively raises standards in all aspects of the game,” said ECNL President Christian Lavers. “We are proud to have so many clubs totally committed to that mission. The ECNL and its member clubs will continue to lead innovation and improvement in youth club soccer, develop the next generation of collegiate stars and national team players, and support the success of US Soccer’s national teams.”

Five core values define the ECNL’s mission to “Raise the Game,” and powerfully drive forward the league’s player-centric philosophy:

Heard more top clubs will be all-in to ECNL and dropping DA. Should be in the next few weeks. Not a good look for US Soccer.

I wonder if they will be allowed two teams in ECNL next year (assuming they have one team in both leagues now). What clubs? What regions?

Only the teams that had DA and ECNL this year. Here is the "coincidence": the same clubs that belong to ECNL board directors who made all other clubs choose either DA or ECNL last year.
Shame on other ECNL clubs and parents to allow this.

Neither of these leagues gets to occupy any higher moral ground. Soccer is a business. If you are offended by the business practices of a league or club, don't support them. You will be hard pressed to get too many to go along with you as these leagues have figured out exactly vwhat makes the customers tick and they give it to them.

IKR? Like we have any control over the situation. We're all trying to figure out what is best for our kids. That is made much more difficult when the landscape keeps shifting on what is now an annual basis (age mandate/GDA start/GDA flop in three years)

many seem happy to have the landscape shifted by a core group of Clubs who through size and scale have a disproportionate amount of power in a league they developed and control. They dont really know the USSF and by their governing status, the USSF can be blamed for all sorts of things form Failure to qualify for the WC to setting rules etc. Reality is the Clubs implement and most of the time, its the implementation that fails, not the rule itself.

These Clubs can sit on the fence and destabilize things instead of being the leaders they SHOULD be in working tirelessly behind the scenes to create a better environment for all the kids.

But USSF is the one that allowed in too many clubs that shouldn't have been there in the first place. Because there were too many clubs all the club had to take whatever talent they could to fill rosters. Sorry, leadership comes from the top.

Exactly. Wild west. No one is loyal to a club and no clubs are loyal to players. Whole thing is like like buying an expensive cup of coffee. This year Dunkin, next year Starbucks.

                      "ALL IN"!

Except for our boys teams of course (PDA & Hawks/Wolves)! What a joke.

One lesson available from youth soccer is seeing how to separate marketing from reality.

But the clubs didn't institute Birth Year, and the clubs didn't ask for DA and its restrictions. That was all the hand of USSF. Clubs are taking power back and implementing what the market wants. USCS and ECNL should further distance themselves from USSF by adopting recruiting year

Why exactly should clubs have power over the very top of the pyramid? Seriously, as long as USSF focuses on developing the very top tiers catering exclusively to the pro and international levels why should the clubs have any say there? Take a step back for a moment and look at some of the characters running clubs in this market then ask yourself whether you see them doing anything that would indicate that they are doing anything in anyone's best interest other than themselves? If you have a top level kid why in the world would you trust any of them?

Judge the character of a club by how they treat the bottom level, not the top.
