Any idea what teams will be filling the void with Stars and PDA opting out? Could Beachside or Yankee be a possibility? They need some regional teams so travel isn’t more of a nightmare in a bigger geographical division next year. Kind of important with tryouts season upon us

I didn't think any teams were going to replace them. US Soccer has announced teams that they were allowed to enter. I can't see them allowing teams to suddenly enter because 2 teams in the area backed out ... but then again who knows.
The bigger question is, will US Soccer allow those clubs that leave the ability to enter again once the league is thriving??

If you combined top talent and top coaches from OW and FSA today, CFC would be second tier.

The question that started this thread is shocking. To think Y's application would ever be submitted, yet alone opened, is comical. Read the application criteria people!
As for some big clubs dropping out yes, it seems to be happening according to the rumors. It'll be fine for everyone involved and won't effect ECNL or GDA all that much. What it could do though is drive some of those clubs better players towards other clubs.
Right now the Stars, PDA, Hawks, etc have 2 teams in each age group, 1 in ECNL 1 in DA. When those clubs pull out of DA they will now only have 1 top team per age group. This is going to cause quite a stir at those clubs. 36 top kids right now across 1 age group gets reduced to 18 kids next year. The 18 that get excluded will be very unhappy.

There really aren't any high quality clubs that could fill the void that actually WANT to fill the void (the league is on shaky ground so what club would bet the farm on it?). If USSF fills it with a weaker club it looks almost as bad as not filling it at all.
