More silicone under the sweaters on GDA sidelines. Same motivations. If that’s important to you, now you know

It depends. If you want your kid to play with future stars and D1 All-americans, or that is what your kid aspires to, pick the GDA. If your kid wants to sit on the bench for a year at a D1 school and watch her teammates that played GDA, pick the ECNL. Then she can transfer to a liwly school with a lowly team that play rec soccer under the guise of it being collegiate soccer. Face it, all that you care about is being able to brag that your precious little girl plays in college.

interesting narrative. No one knows the future so you may be right. Considering this is first year for GDA, there is zero evidence for any of these claims. My D is already in HS, I'd rather she play with current Stars in the ECNL with an actual history for all of the above.

Do agree with your last statement, tho. I only care about my precious little girl. I need to hedge that she might not be THAT future all-American, and therefore feel she is better served on the pathway that takes better care of # 4 - #8 on the roster.

There are quite a few GDA players in these parts who will never be considered to be all Americans nor future stars. In fact, their rostering is laughable.

            Keep up the narrative though.

Quick question for you - how do you keep up the programing on both this thread and on the Connecticut thread and lord knows where else. Do you toggle back and forth or do you keep multiple browser sessions open?

I'd rather have her play ecnl-NPL and high school not for the skill of high school play for other social aspects,as there is no data suggesting playing DA guarantees anything the poster has mentioned .Show the data,DA is second tier maybe even 3rd in some age groups .Play where you choose to play .Study hard and you will get there no matter what league you choose.

It's way too early to proclaim GDA is #1. Everyone thinks the strong coach showing last weekend means it has won the battle for hearts and minds. Appearances doesn't mean more interest, invites, offers to the better programs. It will still be 1-2 more years to see how it flushes out. Even if it becomes #1 (probably a very weak one) there will still be many opportunities out there for college soccer. Find the best coaching and fit with what is important overall for the player. If they enjoy HS sports most of the time (it isn't always ponies and rainbows) then don't give it up. It isn't necessary and they're only kids once. If they aren't enjoying it and want 10 months of soccer only, then GDA might be a good fit. Even then, it's important to weigh the likelihood of meaningful PT and the quality of coaching. Sitting on the bench and/or having poor coaching won't do anyone any good.

This is a ridiculous and pathetic response. Be careful your jealousy is showing.
The vast majority of YNT players and D1 players right now came up through ECNL. Just because an ECNL team moved over to GDA last fall doesn’t instantly make it better and everything else “lowly”. There are D2 programs better than D1 as well. You simply don’t know what you are talking about so maybe you should stop.

Couldn’t agree more. Whether a player sits on the bench for a year or starts in college has nothing to do with the league they played in. It has more to do with fit for the player and the current players on that college team.

Actually it has everything to do with either training year-round with professional coaching vs Bain g to re- learn the game every spring after HS kickball. Good luck with that😜
