    Recruiting from other club

My daughter was approach by a coach from another club, told her to leave her current team and to come and play for him. Is there a rule or some kind of law that says this is legal or illegal?

We don't want to leave the current club and think what he is doing is wrong

Do they play in the same league? If so, yes, for example in NEP it's in the rules not to recruit from another team.

Doesn't mean it doesn't happen though...

Yes, that is against the law in some jurisdictions. I’d suggest heading to the CT judicial branch website to file the appropriate paperwork. Your daughter must be a really good player. What did you say to the coach? You may as well tell us what club as well...since this is an anonymous site and all. The perpetrator should be admonished.

All depends on what leagues she is in now vs the league where the other team plays. If they're not the same league, it's totally legal. If it's inter-league poaching it generally is not until until official tryouts begin. But even then people skirt the rules. If your kid is good she will be in demand. But there's also lots of club desperate to fill rosters who will poach anyone to get a check so be careful. If you don't want to leave that's fine, but you might want to at least look into the other club. Things change in youth soccer and the club and team you like now might not be around after tryouts. Always keep your eyes open just in case.

Happens all the time and not just at CFC. Typically, a coach will make "no tryout" "reduced fee" options available to his target, often OW "A" team to ECNL and vice-versa. Not a lot of this at the NPL level. And, there's rules against jumping teams and then playing for the new team in the same season, so it's likely a summer move.

Then, at the other end of the scale, the CJSA and pop-up premier teams do this a lot, the Alliances, FSCs, SCPs, Academicas, Celtics of the world.

No big deal. Figure out the costs and your kid's preference and make it happen. Or not.

DA teams are encouraged and supported by Us soccer when it comes to recruiting. Zero backlash, they can do what they want.

Either a club short of cash, CFC or likely both.

afc is neither CJSA or a pop-up, but don't let lack of facts stop your narrative.

did the coach approach and recruit your daughter in the snack line during the winter indoor leagues at FSA. OW is known to do this!
