So this tournament is $1,200, they have sponsors and then parents ($25 or $10/day) and kids ($15 or $6day) have to pay to watch?!?!?!

Get off your high horse! Pathetic.

So they are charge that much to watch a u13 team play 7v7 for an 50 minutes.
Also a little misleading saying some of the worlds best clubs are playing.
I like how they do the math for you 1200 per team max 12 only 100 per player.
Is this the real United academy team from England?

You know you have no life when:

        1. You pay money to watch unrelated 12 year olds play soccer.

          2. You are so desperate to raise funds for your struggling organization that you convince yourself that anyone but their parents want to watch 12 year olds play soccer. AND that they will pay to see it.

Don't lie by omission. The striking part of this story is that they are charging admission to watch 12 year olds.

...and maybe you obsess, but I think most check in here once or twice a day and look for something interesting. This story caught my eye and I agree that it is nuts that someone would both charge admission for this and that some may actually pay it.

It’s the ones trying to see how their 12 year old stacks up to the best. Little do they know it may not be their top team.

I like girls soccer because it attracts our 1st tier athletes. I have gone to watch "the best" youth teams play (without my D). If there were an equivalent to Man U on the women's side and their U12s were playing our best local girls teams, I would absolutely go watch, and yeah, I would pay.

Not the actual ManUtd U13 team, it is just a development team from their skills school.

It Absolutely is, my sons team played them today, we had photos with them afterwards and I had a long chat with two of their coaches. This is their top academy U13's and it's easy to see why with their skill levels. They played an exciting game with the New England Revs academy yesterday, who were ahead in the game for a while but eventually lost 5-2.

Tomorrow ManU play the Bolts in what will probably be the tournament decider with both teams on 4 wins no ties or losses.

Sorry to tell you but you are probably just going to lust after young girls, although you may convince yourself otherwise. If it was for the soccer, you would go to boys games if you had no one playing. Girls games are painful to watch relative to boys and that is why they have to match girls up against younger boys if they even bother to schedule a game and the boys still win.

...and if you take offense at my suggestion about why you go, answer this:
How many other parents have you told that you go to young girls games when your daughter isn't playing?

                            Nice attempt with Lust
As another poster pointed out, gauging the level drives the interest.
boys soccer in US attracts our 2nd tier athletes.

I hate to bring facts into the picture, but imagine what that says about the level of soccer you find 'entertaining'. If the girls are the top level athletes and the boys are 2nd tier, yet younger boys routinely destroy older girls teams, then the actual level of soccer and athleticism on the female side must be extremely poor.

You should seek counseling if you also go to watch 12 old girls who aren't your daughter.
