    Beachside Merges with NYSC

USSF will be going to a multiple tier system and the leadership at Beachside wants to ensure the greatest leverage to play at the highest level. To this end Partering with the strongest club in westchester will ensure BSC will continue to have best opportunities.

    Details will follow shortly.

As most of you are aware, in September 2016 Beachside SC entered into a contract to purchase approximately 11.3 acres of land in Monroe in pursuit of the Club’s goal of building Beachside Soccer Park. The 11.3 acre parcel is part of a much larger property owned by the seller. The purchase of the land was contingent on: (a) the Club gathering sufficient donations to fund the land acquisition and the construction of the fields, and (b) the seller obtaining the permits and approvals necessary for Beachside to build two regulation turf fields with lights and seating and a clubhouse.*

Over the past 15 months Beachside has raised a significant amount of capital and the permitting process was advancing. Beachside worked collaboratively with the seller and its engineering team for many months in connection with the seller’s application for the approvals for Beachside Soccer Park, including lights for both fields. Although the seller obtained some of the approvals for our project, the seller and its engineering consultant (with our concurrence) had concerns about their ability to obtain*allrequired permits and approvals for the 11.3 acre site we had under contract. In response to that concern, we began negotiations with the seller for a new location on the seller’s property in Monroe. Unfortunately, in December the seller informed us that his lenders do not want him to proceed with an amendment to the Beachside contract due to circumstances outside of Beachside’s control. As Beachside has continually acted in good faith throughout the process, the seller agreed to return our deposit and donate the engineering drawings to the Club for our future use.

We continue to strongly believe Beachside Soccer Park will establish a transformative environment for our players, coaches, parents and alumni. Despite this recent setback, the Board of Directors and management of the Club remain committed to finding a long-term solution to the Club’s field needs. We are continuing to review prospects, including some new to the market, and hope to have a suitable location in the near term.

Thank you to those who generously donated and made pledges to donate so as to ensure a future home for Beachside SC. We look forward to updating you in 2018 regarding further Beachside Soccer Park developments and implementing this transformative project.

Just like the “merger” with South Central. NYSC will be buying Beachside. Bad time for the Greek to sell. The club is at an alltime low. Bad advice Mickey Mouse Sell high.

Tier three for BS would be death sentence. Good idea to drop dead wood and join with stronger org like NYSC.

That DA badge has been a death sentence. It crushed SCP, they have never recovered even after unloading it. Beachside now wilting under its weight. Stay away from DA unless you want to die.

You don't know how things played out.

Beachside merged with SCP because they couldn't get thier own DA badge, and because SCP realized they didn't have the staff, players, or structure to remain a legitimate player in the DA. It was good for both organizations at the time.

Beachside is in the position they are now simply because of geography. NYSC, NYCFC, EFCW are within 20 miles of Beachside, and Oakwood is only 60 mins away. Oakwood on the other hand, often criticized because of their location, is actually in a great position BECAUSE of their location.

BTW, how could Oakwood's location be a disadvantage? They are located in the middle of the 3rd smallest state in the country.
