    DA and GDA

The purpose of the DA is give MLS clubs home grown talent and to help the men’s national program. I get it but neither seems to be working out well. Men’s national team is the worst it has ever been. A few MLS clubs have developed players to help but that’s about it.

Look at Tyler from SCP. Passed up college for a MLS option and look at him now. Why does the DA not care about the other 99%.

On the girls side it’s worse. College is the number 1 thing on parents and players minds as it should be and the women’s national team is the best in the world so why mess with it?

These young kids missing out on high school athletics is not fair. They might not realize it now but they will regret it down the road.

Tyler Turner, played at South Central Premier. Turned pro at 18 but hasn't made first team for MLS

In February of 2014, Turner signed with Orlando City, which capped off its final season in USL PRO and transitions to Major League Soccer in 2015. Turner appeared in 24 games and was one of three finalists for 2014 USL PRO Rookie of the Year as Orlando City won the USL PRO regular season title.

Turner was a longtime member of South Central Premier, including its Development Academy team starting in 2010. After his tenure at the U-17 Residency Program, Turner returned to the Academy in 2013-14 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

What USSF and the MLS clubs wants isn't in line with what 99.9999% of its participants want = college. As the OP said there haven't been many pro players to come out of the system so MLS clubs don't even get much out of it while each club has paid to develop hundreds. They also can't "sell" players for a tidy profit like clubs do in Europe. While it's good that DA has brought structure and standards to a system, the downside is it has become almost too rigid and isn't getting the job done for the NT. There's little relegation of poor performing clubs and some of the clubs they let into GDA are a joke. On the women's side there's very little pro team involvement and no pro track desired by girls to speak of. Not sure of the solutions but perhaps getting out of the development "business" is a place to start. USSF seems more focused on crushing ECNL instead of making soccer better.

Check your facts. He made 1st team in Orlando and started 5 games. I watched him play on National TV a few times.

get back to the point of the thread - is DA doing it's job? He's one player who went nowhere. The country is littered with them in all sports. Of course other sports don't require you to give up HS to be "the best".

I would say the recent youth group successful results are a positive sign. That being said it’s a little late in coming

I heard Tyler Turner was playing in an indoor tournament at CFC Arena last week.

He seems to have really made it.

Go get a college education and prepare for the real world.

Yeah he can pay the 280k in tuition and fees with all of his MLS earnings since he is now no longer for a scholarship.

Seeeeeee that's the problem with you piss arse f*gs , you look at the end game of soccer and conclude a kids life as being destroyed if hes not making millions playing in Europe.

Tyler Turner is a good kid that took a chance to become Pro , make up your mind on which way its suppose to be ....take the college offer or take a chance in life because its your passion to play pro and for the good of the sport.
Its really hard to make the decision on going Pro so i give him and his parents much love on that. The kid is not doing Drugs , abusing girls or robbing banks as the last i heard so whats the problem with his decision no matter how it turned out.
Your quote.."Look at Tyler from SCP. Passed up college for a MLS option and look at him now.

F all of you guys with this BS, now you see why American kids dont have half a chance to get to the next level...too much negativeness, going to college doesn't guarantee anything, Do you know how many College kids was killed this Holiday season for driving DWI and how many ODs for using Opiods. Success comes in many forms or paths, the kid could become an executive for the Orlando team , it happens all the time hes been a loyal person to the Org , if that happens then what will you say ...'it was a good move" was Pulisic's move good because hes at Dortmund? if he wasn't playing then it was bad but how would he or us know. ....so stop criticizing.
