Revs cast off JR at Seacoast getting a mention. Maybe they cut him a little early?

Well it's written by this 20-something former BU bench player kid who means well but thinks he's some kind of soccer guru. I got a good laugh because he said some good things about my kid which are not really true! It's actually stuff he has to work on. He talks about some foreign players like their the next incarnation of Pele. We've got a couple of foreign "National team players" on our team who I think would struggle in DA- I'll bet he hasn't even seen them play but he talks about them anyway! Well,at least he covers the New England HS/DA soccer scene- which no one does. Just don't take his picks or lack of picks seriously. I just hope none of these college coaches take him seriously.

I think he's spot on about the Revs and Bolts players. They're clearly the top players in their age groups.

Writer is a fantastic gymnast. Goes through great contortions to try to make the Academy program look respectable. You can feel his pain as he reaches for something to make the academy program sound like something that anyone familiar with it and honest knows that it isn't. There are players mentioned who came into DAP with immense innate talent. And that talent was never nurtured into greatness and it is a shame. And then there are others mentioned who, like most DAP players, are roster fillers needed by DAP because they have no clue how to find and grow the best talent.

(note another classic feature of the article that shows it is truly written about US soccer. It is very heavy on the physical characteristics of the players and their heritage. Things that may sound appealing to a lemming US fan, but mean very little in high level competition.)

Don’t you wonder what this guy’s kid looks like? Let us guess. No physical characteristics to note and always overlooked. He must be a great teammate though.

                    Why so nasty?

I agree, the nesj writer is well intentioned but inaccurate.

AS: Previously of Western United, this Longmeadow, Mass. native has 11 goals in as many games for the Revs. That production level gives him the ninth-most tallies in the country at the U-15 age group.

Clearly he just recycled press releases from the coaches. Several of the Rev's kids are why they keep losing games. Most of the those kids are always looking for themselves and can't or won't get back on transition.

Alternatively ...your kid wasn't listed because he is not that good.

That is quite possibly the reason he's ripping unto the writer. The article doesn't give us any real insight. The players listed for Revs and Bolts have been know to many of us over the years. They are developing well it seems and all getting (or will be getting D1 offers).
