    Why Disney Tournaments Suck

    Too expensive.

Fields an hour apart from each other and you hop around so you can't get a close hotel.

Pay for parking, then walk a mile to the field. Or don't pay for parking, then walk 2 miles to the fields.

Pay more money to watch the games.

Expensive, unhealthy food and nowhere close enough to go between games.

Awful, awful traffic. Maybe not their fault but it still makes it a bad location.

Terrible referees - when they aren't using the parking lot flaggers as linesmen because they were short referees.

They destroyed small tournaments that used to be fundraisers to help the kids pay their way instead of all the money going to greedy shareholders.

Disney in general is a greedy evil corporation that has its grossly underpaid employees living in rundown motels and homeless shelters.

    Discuss.

Yes all true. then imagine out of state teams having to fly down at some of the most expensive travel periods of the year, plus rental cars etc. So your options are to

    - tell your club you're not going
    - go and don't complain

Gather all the families and tell the club next year you do not want to do it. Nothing will change unless more clubs start dropping out. As it is the competition isn't as strong as it used to be, but they seem to keep filling slots with other suckers, I mean clubs

You are not forced to attend this tournament. There are other alternatives. Get over it.

Are you kidding? My family loved the Disney events. We spent Christmas there the last three years and thanksgiving there the last two years. Five trips to Disney over a three year period for a family of five.

but you know what, we loved it and so did my little girl that was dragged to her brothers soccer for the umpteenth time. She got to go to the "Happiest Place on Earth" so many times her friends at home are jealous. She got to go to "Bippidity Boppidty Boop" and get dressed up like a princess. Without Disney events she never would have done these things. Or not as often..

The Mouse is great and a huge part of Americana and US Culture. Mickey is making America Great Again one soccer tournament, volleyball tournament, baseball tournament, cheerleading event, futsal event, dance competition and football even at a time.

            GO MICKEY!!

I learned I loved Disney after our team had to start flying to California, Las Vegas, and New Jersey.

The holidays is the worst possible time to be at the parks! OMG the lines. Nope, just go for the soccer and go home and be glad you don't have to fly there and pay even more.

Its funny, I used to say & think the same thing when my son was younger. Year after year we would go for Easter, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, qualifier, etc. Never made it to the New years showcase unfortunately. But now that he is in college and no longer depending on me I wish i can do it all over. Look, your kids are only with you for a short period of time, enjoy it while you can as you will soon know what I am going through.

Yes the mouse sucks, yes its a pain but it is so worth it.

You may not like the mouse but the tournaments have always been run well. We attended from u11-u18.

The only tournament they run that has gotten worse is the Showcase. In my opinion, it has turned into a money grab. Now they have so many teams so many flights it has diluted the event.

Playing the qualifier used to mean something. Now all the qualifier does is getting in a higher grouping.

They were fun. If you are in FL and play more than on tournament at DWWS by the annual pass for $100.00

The best tournament to play in the International in the Summer a guest player with of foreign team.

As my son plays his last year I look back and say...it wasn't that bad. Nowadays how else can I get my family on 5-10 mini vacations each year that we are all together. Five hours of game time over four days leaves a lot of family time left over. Enjoy it, your kids could be smoking on a street corner somewhere dressed in black plotting the next Columbine!

Together? We had our kids in different locations playing sports and our family was split up most weekends.
