WHAT is going on at FSA

U14's almost on the bottom in ecnl standing ...U13 in the very last place. Future looks not so bright...?!

It’s mix of trying to stay loyal to long time paying families. Failure to develop the huge pool their amazing facilities attract. To make a profit you can’t have amazing facilities and amazing people.

Build it they will come but does not mean they get better. But when your measuring your self against CFC’s development it’s no wonder they shoot so low.

The amount time invested either program would need to be competive with the top programs is huge with little guarantee. No promotion relegation in ECNL just do enough and keep the rest as profit.

ECNL teams are static. Make the team at U14 and as along as you pay, you're there for life. Some kids skip practices without penalty, but that's okay because the coaches have no idea how to help teenagers develop their playing skills.

Repeat from last year, and the year before....The old expression about the definition of insanity (doing the same thing over but expecting a different result) seems to fit.

I think the issue is from the top down... You have a family that is in it for the money and the philosophy is win at every age and not develop players. Its obvious at the younger ages of kids getting "stuck" in a position and not being allowed to develop in any other spots. There was a mass exodus of coaches this past year. There is no continuity of play between ages and coaches. A new coach shows up and yells at them to not do things they did for last years coach....07 boys is a great example. They will flounder forever till they figure out what needs to be done or people leave. Instead of building more fields they should put the money back into paying the coaches and attracting quality coaches, and a non arrogant director. The good ones are gone for the fall at prep schools or college. Notice I didn't mention High school there.... I'm contemplating leaving there but I know the grass isn't greener on the other side.

Yes mass exodus of coaches from fsa to sporting like HA, huge score there. I have been at fsa for years and I know for fact that each year they are adding more qaulity coaches. With 40 or so coaches at any one club, there will obviously be some that are better than others. Just look at CFc caliber of coaches, some good, some bad

Some good points and right there with you. Coaching is going downhill versus what a premier club should be and if there is one thing that is going to make the downhill acceleration faster it is the poor coaching hires as of late. Not everywhere but in enough places that its noticeable.

We've mostly had very good coaches at FSA.

I do think their issue is a bad Director of Coaching. He doesn't have a coaching philosophy that is passed through all ages. Also he's made some perplexing decisions moving players.

If they got a really good DOC FSA would be head and shoulders above the other clubs.

They have great boys candidates already under the roof, they just need to make the decisions.

Fsa has been a horrible ecnl club. MD complained for years. Pool of talent not deep enough when at s+, well merger with Fsa took care of that. Didn’t have facilities, that changed when he got the best in ct with the merger. What excuse is left?

You mean potential DOC replacements are already in house? Or did I misunderstand?
