    Coaches bad mouthing tactics

Why do certain coaches feel the need to bad mouth other coaches from different clubs, as a way to try and recruit players?! I am fed up of one coach in MA who is bad for it in particular, but it is just a huge turn off to me right away if that is one of their tactics.

Not sure if anyone else has much experience with it, but it seems a pretty insecure way to recruit a player.

Bingo. Many (but thankfully not all) are egomaniacs and put more effort into talking trash than teaching the game. The whole thing is rather tiresome.

          No, they don’t.

This whole potential discussion is eerily reminiscent of the Republican party eating its own.
This is nothing more than a disgruntled idiot trying to question something they don’t understand to begin with or more likely unhappy with their kids playing time because that is always the root cause of all complaints
Or an under rostered coach looking for ways to fill his quota before year’s end.

Why is anybody in this stupid state even playing soccer?

            * sigh * Can't comment without bringing politics into it?

Any worse than the Democratic infighting that is going on?

Anyone who interjects politics into a discussion just shows how incredibly biased they are in their own right.

                Nice pun on “right”.
But no, no political interjection, just an observation on how similar soccer discussions have become to the political discourse, or lack thereof, in this country.
And if you believe that politics don’t play a role in how this all works, then shame on you.
Just wait until non-profit status is dealt with and the rats flee the ship.

But, the initial posit is on an unhappy poster using a ridiculous scenario to obviously try to out a coach with whom he is dissatisfied.
Like everybody else involved in soccer in this sorry state.

Should've "left" it concentrating on soccer-only. No reason to create sides unnecessarily.

I think that disposition, which is pervasive, is about 2 things: Ego and selling (which feeds into the ego).

When players leave a coach to join another, for the incoming coach, it's good for business and it's GREAT for ego.

The lefts are the biggest crybabies the world has ever seen. They need to bring their derision into every conversation they have. Sad.

Reyna spoke about an arrogance problem in American soccer last week.

I disagree. Frankly, I have only heard of one club that does that. You get that impression from TS but I have never heard it, and our kids are affiliated with two clubs.

Silliness. Consider yourself lucky to have the impression that you do. The reality is that it's an easy case to make even with complete disregard the ****e we all can read on TS. I've had too many pints with other coaches, DOCs and club owners over the years to see it differently. It's just part of the club soccer business culture. It doesn't apply to every coach, but it's everywhere.

Appreciate your insight and thoughts on it, obviously I beg to differ.

I dont believe I am one of the examples you mentioned above, we are actually content where our daughter is just now. We have been approached by the same coach a few times, and his tactics to recruit are he is a better coach than existing one we have "as he is not very good", his team are in a better league than our current league. These reasons just seem small minded and insecure to me, nothing about development reasons... just all about him and ego I think.

Anyway, that is why we were turned off.
