ODP is a long and drawn out identification process. A well run ODP program is not interested in developing players and very little in terms of coaching happens at ODP. The drills can be well run and the quality of the coaches can be high, especially once you reach the Regional Level. Player skills get better as you move up through the program and viability in terms of scouting are beneficial.

That said, it is a no fly zone for DA players. They cannot participate.

Also, the quality in regards to the organization by states can vary tremendously. Full disclosure, my kid did ODP in another state where ODP is well run so I cannot speak to New Jersey in this regards.

You will get a lot of people poopooing ODP ignore them unless they are speaking directly to how well run the NJ program is. It can get expensive but the experience can be worth it if DA or ECNL are not options for whatever reason.
