Why is an "Elite" ECNL team playing in the Disney Pre-Season tournament with ordinary club teams? Might as well not even play the games and give them the medals now. I heard they picked up some DA kids from Orlando City this last year at try outs.

It could get embarrassing having to play a Boys' ECNL team. I mean, our team is good, but not elite on a national level like boys' ECNL. Let's not forget ECNL stands for "Elite Club National Level".

I guess it's all about perspective.

You could say that about other clubs playing low level Labor Day tournament in Sarasota instead of Disney Qualifier that weekend.

That's why they created the girls DA and essentially eliminated the significance of ECNL on the girls side. The boys ECNL league is a desperate attempt by US Club Soccer to get paypack against US Soccer's introduction of DAs for girls. It's an unnecessary, experimental league that is doomed to fail and it's certainly not a path to the national team. I'm sorry that you fell the marketing pitch that is boys ECNL because that's all it is - a marketing ploy for folks who don't know any better. I know, the truth hurts.
