Please tell me you're joking. A nine year old? Find some good on-line videos and work with them in the yard or a park. Find some neighborhood kids to do pickup games. More importantly, get them to a good club.

        ?

A 10 year old. Guys lets not forget around the world at 10 years old kids are at clubs like Barcelona being scouted from around the world so it is not like i'm doing a crazy request. 7-13 is where most technical skills are learned, hence why messi got picked up at 11/12 from argentina to barcelona. Please learn before you open your mouths.

This is no Messi. It's a 9 year old travel player. Other poster nailed it - get him or her to a good club and see where it goes. Work outside in the yard, play against older siblings. Do and some camps or clinics. Private training for that young is akin to setting your cash on fire.

That would require spending time with the child. Who wants to do that? It is much easier to pay for a trainer.

                  Hahahah

No wonder why Florida has fallen off the map. They still think kicking in the backyard with mom and dad is still the way to go haha. Billions of dollars into the game every year and you think training 2 to 3x a week will get them to a pro level when every other country in world train 2 to 3x a day. Wake up, we have 1 good field player in the world's game today, the rest play in the mls. Keeping same mentality and have same poor results is baffling to me. Good luck with your backwards thinking.

It's called being realistic. The odds of a 9-10 year even playing by high school is very low, let alone playing at a high level, college or NT. No we are not a soccer nation. But one family paying for training isn't going to change that. Better talent identification and development is well outside the OP's wheelhouse wouldn't you say?

and yes, working in the backyard, on their own or with parents, siblings or friends, matters. Repetition matters. But the player has to WANT to improve and put in the hours. Paying for a trainer is just easy - you force the child to participate. Players that don't have the drive won't last, let alone make it all the way to the professional level. No amount of training can make up for lack of drive.

Any S Florida father of a soccer player is the best trainer, especially Sunrise dad's as they know everything about soccer!

like other poster said, make sure your kid is with the right club. much more important what happens September to may, instead of 3-4 sessions in july.

also, does your kid have a burning desire to be a soccer player? not that he likes it (at 10 they all like it); is he hungry for it? if not, don't waste your money on private. make sure it is your kid's desire and not yours.

Every soccer club in south florida is a revenue generator, period. Retaining players and recruiting new ones for more revenue is the goal. Player development is goal # 3 or 4, maybe. Each club is run by an above average functioning retard that may or may not have experience as a player.
