Makes sense, although I'm not sure either could cede control. What might make more sense in short-term is for ECNL and NPL to unify against DA. This will create clear tiering and pathway optimized for college placement. Would also give option to blend Northeast NPL with New England NPL and improve regional alignment.
Northeast NPL, comprised of ECNL 2nd teams, is now a 4th tier league behind DA, ECNL, and New England NPL (which is clubs first teams, or DA waiting room). 4th tier needs to travel to PHL and NJ for good competition?

South Shore Select on the other hand may just end up DA in a year and if that happens, Scorpions is history.

Better for these two DOCs to bury the hatchet so they have at least some hope of burying some completion.

Why would SSS want to merger? Especially with FC Boston who doesn't have anything to bring to the table. Liz needs to find her own way to get the AP teams teams in ECNL. She has to have some way, especially with the 03s being top nationally. And her elite level teams could easily compete in NPL. The club is holding their players back if they stay the way it is but there has to be a better way than a merger.
