As long as the parents continue to stay silenced and write the checks, it will continue. Parents need to start being proactive and advocate for their kids. This benefits nobody but the club! I refuse to put my child on a 27 man roster.
I think USSF is trying to counter this type of abusive behavior by establishing a GDA.
That's rich - GDA rosters are an average of 23 (as per USDA website) and allow for up to at least 6 (more?) "practice" players. I'm no fan of CFC's plan but let's not pretend GDA will be any better on that front.

Like another said - what are the options? FSA? Nope. OW? GDA isn't for everyone. Driving to NY or MA clubs isn't an option for most parts of the state. I can see why they're picking the best of the worst options.

2) college placements are night and day. that's why CFC is bursting at the seams and FSA is losing players. the fact that FSA had players go from a manageable roster to an unmanageable one, willing to take that risk, shows you how weak FSA is.

Said the parent whose kid couldn't make a roster, even an ecnl 27 man roster

Yeah 9 more wins in over 380 ECNL games is so much stronger. Sounds like a lot of bench warmers on those CFC commits if they cant muster the talent to consistently beat poor little FSA.

Show me the money!!!! Just because those kids commit to those schools doesn't mean they got a dime. Would have probably gotten in anyway. And if they could not get accepted without soccer, just how well do you think they will fare there? Mom and pop likely footing the bill either way for their silver spoon kid.

Oh so it's better to get a few nickels and attend a lesser school? Ok. Looking at the FSA list it's unlikely there's much money there either - not many D1 schools or ones that are fully funded
