Wondering what others think of the PDP program. My kid goes and we really like it. The training is great. Much better than our club.

Everyone will have their opinion. As long as you feel the program is good for your child that's all you should need.

My kid loves it as well and we plan to continue. Lots of people talk about getting extra touches, but these are quality ones with quality instruction

PDP Select Squad
PDP Regional Training
PDP Center of Excellence
Regional Training is invite only, where you kid has to be recommended by their DOC or by receiving "player of the game" nods from multiple opposing coaches. These are recorded weekly by the coach after each game. The trainings are once a month held at various locations.
The top players from the Regional Training are chosen ( by PDP trainers) for the Select Squad where they play a few tournaments together throughout the year and 2 age groups are going to Europe this year.
Center of Excellence is recommendation AND tryout based, but it's the only one you have to pay for. The training is excellent and mirrors the training of the regional training and SS, but the level of player is a little more inclusive. C of E is also a gateway into the other 2 programs and I've seen kids who weren't even recommended for C of E, end up on the Select Squad after a session or 2. Overall, it's a great program!

Agree Curtis' program is very good. Much better than ODP in terms of trainers.
As a coach, I found ODP to be political and the guy that runs it poaches players so nobody is sending their players anymore.
NYCSL PDP is much better organized and the clubs feeding into it are much stronger so your kid will be training with higher level players.
My only reservation is it ends too early. I wish it followed the R1 ODP process of good college coaches working with the regional pool players a few weeks a year. That exposure is valuable.
