Spring is Here ODP in the Air

ODP is still going strong. Practices this week in Simsbury. Lotsa kids. I must note that it would be nice if someone over there Googled, "what time is Sunset in Simsbury, CT," oh and if they didn't just wallop the ball like U12 FSA kids. That's all.

Odp and cjsa is dead. The leadership of cjsa just crushed the future of cjsa

Different poster here. With the GDA coming online, ODP will be done in short order. US Soccer now has its own deal. ODP was on life support and it will soon die. I have more faith in the VCR making a comeback.

If you think your kid is top 50 player at their age in CT, you get them to OW, FSA ECNL or CFCU. Everything else is irrelevant especially at u15 and up.

ODP in CT is only good for one thing.....cashing your check.

I have seen them train. 2004 boys could make a game roster that could compete with any club in the state.

Technically a state ODP should be an all star team and should be able to beat ANY team. The fact that qualify it with "could compete" tells volume

ummm....that's not the point. You do realize odp is about interstate and regional competition right? Wait until you watch ct teams get their azzes kicked by other states that actually still have good odp programs - you know, the ones that still give a shi*, put some money into it, train more than once every few weeks, hire good coaches.

                    Good luck U13 dad.

Sure they could - vs CJSA teams! Most truly good players are in DA already or will be soon enough. DA players aren't allowed to do ODP or other ID programs. On the girls side they still keep ODP decent until U14 when ECNL teams form and most will drop out of ODP. Go watch BDA or ECNL play/train to see what your kid is missing.

First off, EVERYONE knows that ODp is a bunch of garbage. I see kids who play ODP that couldn't come close to making an ECNL roster.

Second and more importantly, great you are happy for little peggy and her ODP. Why did you feel the need to put down other kids?

Probably a parent of a U12 whose kid is in ODP. She probably plays at a low level club, or maybe is a bench warmer on a decent NPL team. Deep down he knows his kid would never make an ECNL team, so disparaging ECNL kids makes him feel better.

I am assuming you are talking about the OP? I am the one whose comment you responded to. My kid DOES play ECNL and I can say that she has played against ODP kids and many of them are NPL.

I think it was from an ongoing discussion of this post below. U12. Not ECNL, not even pre ECNL. Most ECNL girls are out of ODP by 14, U15 at the latest. On the boys side U13 is pretty much it since DA now goes down as young as 12 and it's forbidden by USSF.
