    NYRB Pre-academy?

What do people think about the pre-academy teams being formed by NYRB, NYCFC and the other development academies for U10-12? Is it worth considering these versus just a good club / town-based program?

Much better than a town based program. better than a good club training

If it's convenient for you in terms of location and its similarly priced I would go with the pre Academy. Just don't be under any illusions that it's a sure thing. The club will replace you in a New York minute if a better kid comes along.

Good advice - and even the "much better coaching" isn't a sure thing. Just because there's a MLS name attached to it doesn't mean they're going to be assigning their best and brightest to coach ulittles. Definitely don't assume this might fast track your kid into something down the road. RDS, camps, this....all ways for the clubs to cover the costs of running free DA programs for the older kids.

I saw an ad on twitter for a U12 academy coach in California. The ad mentioned a salary of $35k. Definitely not getting the best and brightest. Although that's more than a premier coach
