Why are most FL soccer parents so clueless ???

....Paying all sorts of fees to 90% of the clubs that sell them on development while the DOC drives up to the fields for 5 min on his new BMW.

Jacking up prices every year with promises of a scholarship and who knows what other BS they're selling. Most parents in this state are suckers.

At least 50% of the clubs in FL should fold or merge at the very least. There just aren't enough good coaches or DOC's who know *** they're doing....

    Tell me I'm lying....

I'n not going to tell you you're lying. I am going to tell you that you are a Troll and that you need to learn how to post things on here so that you don't end up with two identical posts.

you're right, alot of the clubs do need to merge so all the talent will end up on one team. and some DOC's are liers. if they promise you a scholorship they are lying. however the good ones can promise that you will be looked at for a potential scholorship, because they have made contacts over the years. you just need to find the right club and also dont put all you hope into someone else doing your job. do your own research and send in you own videos and make you own phone calls.

Do FL clubs post up their D1 commitments every year? Up north our club lists players names and what school they committed to. You can't legitimately promise D1 scholarships, but year in year out results establish a pattern. If parents are too stupid or naive to do their research....

My experience has been that soccer in FL is strictly a business venture and most clubs don't give a sh!t about development or what happens to your kid after you're done paying your thousands...

No trolling here my friend, just the facts. What... do you own a club in FL?

If you don't see this post as the truth then you're one of the clueless ones...don't forget to order your new checks. You're going to need them...

Their is no such thing as a full D1 scholarship in soccer. Only Men's Football and Basketball have a full D1 Scholarship, and only Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Gymnastics and Tennis have a full D1 scholarship. For Soccer, $8,000 in partial scholarship money to a University that charges probably on average $40,000 a year in tuition, books, room and board is the best they can hope for. Talk about stupidity.

yes there is a Full D1 scholarship in Football, Basketball and GOLF for men's sports re-re.

A "hydrid" is offered if grades and SAT scores are very high, in the end it ends up being a full ride so yes it does exist.

Golf does not offer full ride scholarships. It's an equivalency scholarship sport, just like soccer. Only football and basketball are headcount full ride scholarships. Football and basketball scholarships can't be divided. It's 1:1 per the NCAA re re.

All athletic? then yes that is much higher than average. If that's a combined deal with grants etc that's different. Typically "full ride" is in reference to All Athletic only. Why people feel the need to brag about that is beyond me. I'd rather my kid get tons of merit money, which is based on having good grades and is good all four years. Athletic money is not (in most cases). Be a good athlete with great grades and you'll have many options

Now that is my son's last year of soccer he is going to a school that does not have a men's soccer program. Every player on his team that desired to play in college all have gotten on a college roster D1-D3 or Naia.

The secret is work hard and target 3 or 4 schools you want to attend start early.

Do not believe the Hype the clubs, DA and Training sell.

There is some truth of what you speak. Yes clubs are businesses. Parents should always keep that in mind when listening to pitches and promises. But clubs that do a good job of developing players year in and year out will continue to do well, while those that don't eventually will fizzle out. Then others will take their place. That's the beauty of a free market. Families may be stuck for a little while at a club, but come next fall they'll be gone if they're not treated right.

Academic $ is what you should care about. Rec soccer in college is lots of fun. The problem is after u16, soccer becomes a sport for crazies all thinking they will get soccer $.
