    Sounder Alliance

Hearing that Spokane has left the Sounders alliance.

If true MLS takeover of youth soccer took one small step backwards . . . Good!

Expect the same with the Timbers

I think the majority of timbers Alliance clubs are rethinking their association. There was lots of promise upfront, but timbers provide next to nothing. The roll out of the thorns academy has been disappointing.

Effort from timbers youth staff has been very disappointing.

There is a small marketing benefit to having Timbers in the name at the very youngest ages.

There are several ideas for new alliances.

We were at Westside the year they became Alliance. John Bain told us all this stuff about players coming out to our practices and being a part of our clubs. We had Franck Songo'o come out to one academy practice and none of the other teams seen a Timbers player for the next 5 years.

Merritt and Gavin fooled 501(c)(3) youth soccer organizations in this state. Some say that makes them business geniuses.

            Guess Eastside still loves them.

That's one more player than our TA club has seen. Guess those Timbers and Thorns players don't want to drive outside of the PDX area. TA is a scam. I'm so glad my kid is done in two years.

Did Alliance clubs sign 10 year contracts with the Timbers like Oysa did?

Eastside's DOC now openly criticizes the Timbers. Wonder how long he will last?

Everyone openly criticizes the Timbers and thorns program. Running around doing a half assed job then expects everyone to send them players. Timbers provided little to nothing to alliance clubs. Watch and see the strong ones leave.

Hence why none have left already. The only thing any of the Timbers clubs has going for them is the Timbers patch. Take that away and they have NOTHING left.

The Timbers Alliance clubs develop more talented players in Oregon than non TA clubs produce on boys and girls side. Ignore the marketing machine.

Not accurate or relevant. My neighborhood alliance club was better before it put on the patch. That is the point.

ECNL clubs heavily loaded with kids developed by Alliance clubs. So is timbers academy.
