Effort from timbers youth staff has been very disappointing.
There is a small marketing benefit to having Timbers in the name at the very youngest ages.

We were at Westside the year they became Alliance. John Bain told us all this stuff about players coming out to our practices and being a part of our clubs. We had Franck Songo'o come out to one academy practice and none of the other teams seen a Timbers player for the next 5 years.Comment
