It will be interesting to see what clubs extend this program for girls, that have DA for boys now. So far, only Timbers have. Who else places value on developing girls. BSC? FC? Crossfire? Capital? WA Timbers? Anyone? FC and Crossfire will pass because they make way too much $$ on the ECNL scam.

As for "making way too much $$ on ECNL", you might want to do some research. The only group raking in huge profits from youth soccer in Oregon is the Timbers. All the other clubs are basically breaking even.

Football is just a completely different beast. For 1, they have like 80 players on the team. For 2, it's really the only sport that brings in massive revenue. The rest of the sports, not so much... particularly girls side - just being honest. Maybe a fairer way to do this is to treat football separate? I don't know but I do know that you are at a major disadvantage if you are a male soccer player, solely because of your gender. And for the record, I have a boy and a girl that play soccer so we may benefit from Title 9 too.
