Yes, by enrollment they probably always should have been Div 1. By going Div 1, they should actually help their recruitment as all the player recognition goes to the Div 1 players, and rightly so. Classical academics and cost should also be a selling point over LaSalle, which should help maintain top recruits.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

Don't give coach credit for moving up. He refused to move last 3 years. Classical was forced up this year. Don't worry Moses Brown was suppose to replace Chariho this year but his AD took the mantle for not moving up when there clearly should have.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

At least from a enrollment perspective, Moses Brown is playing in the appropriate league. Not quite like the other privates (LaSalle and Hendricken) that not only can get the players that want to avoid the town teams, but also have 50% to 90% higher male enrollment than the rest of Division 1. When the league realigned the 47 boys soccer teams into three divisions primarily based on strength of programs they placed 15 teams in Division I, the state’s top division, and 16 teams in both Division II and III. Moses Brown was one of the 16 teams placed in Division II.
But when the National Soccer Coaches Association released its weekly national Top 25 High School boys poll last week, there was Moses Brown listed as the No. 22 team in the country.
None of 15 Rhode Island Division I teams received a national ranking. Moses Brown, which started this week with a 4-0 record in Division II play, also was the top Rhode Island team in the Region I, (New England) regional Top 10 rankings in third place.Comment
