Player not allowed to play because of picture on pass to old

Have seen in all. A player was not allowed to play in a u19 game because player pass had an old picture. The picture was the same on that has been on the pass for the past four years.

The ref explained the picture has to be up to date and clearly, represent the player's current appearance. The player even showed his driver's license but still was not allow to play.
I have never heard of this rule before.

Then your coach/team manager/whoever is in charge of player passes is wearing an Asshat. Rule has been around for years. Pictures are supposed to be current within 6 month, at least within current year. 4 years is ridiculous. Manager should take photos of all players for new passes every year.

Especially given how much kids change one year to the next. Two years maybe, four is a joke

The first time it ever came up. The pass was current. Same team new manager each year. I wonder if other teams have the same issue but the Refs have never said anything. Looking at some roster pictures on Got Soccer it may be more of a problem than just one or two players.

I'm surprised it took this long. Maybe they didn't play State Cup last year but a clear mandate went out to the clubs that pass pictures needed to be taken within the last 6 months for State Cup. We redid all our team passes as there were a lot of old pictures.

We update ours every year and your registrar gets a reminder each year to do this. Whether out of ignorance or laziness, this all falls on your club. I find it funny how often people think the rules should be bent because it's for the kids. If everyone pays attention and follows the rules its pretty easy.

Always amazed by the things clubs let slip through the cracks. The executive director needs a huge followup checklist to ask his staff every year and then he checks it off. Are the teams registered for the appropriate leagues and tournaments by the deadlines? Are the player passes updated? Too much is put on the volunteer managers who are often clueless parents.

Please be a troll. No one can be this stupid. That's exactly the problem. You're using a really old picture.

You've never heard of NO PASS, NO PLAY before? What did you think the pass was for? If they were just checking names, they wouldn't need the passes. They could just use the roster. The pass is to check the picture, so obviously the picture has to look like the kid.

And the driver's license doesn't matter because... NO PASS, NO PLAY.

Not saying it's right, but I think the OP's point was that the kid offered his DL as proof that he was the kid pictured on the pass. Not that he thought he could play with just a DL.

Doesn't matter. It's the pass that's invalid. Most youth players don't have DL anyway so why should they accept it for that one player?

Our club requires a new pic each and every year. Maybe some others will read this and take care of it. I'm sure others have been equally inattentive

The club issued new passes for the current season but did not update the pictures. Leason learned will be fixed before next game. The funny part is he already played 5 games with the same pass.

I guess all Refs do not look.

Rule clearly says within 6 months.

The problem is the Miami teams have bought fake IDs before when they wanted to play on someone else's pass. Ask any college kid how easy it is to get a fake DL.
