Yes, but it's a positive evolution. A national development structure and culture will move the sport in a positive direction.

15,000,000 kids play soccer, that would be boys and girls. (oops should I have said that in Big O's land) anyway lets say 1/2 keeping it simple is 7,500,000 are girls (throw a few cross genders into the mix) 3,000 play DA. Hmmmm that would be .00033333 on. Is it really that many girls that would be killing soccer. I don't think so.

Da or what every group is created to give the perception of better than will always be the downfall of US soccer. My player is better than yours because they are on xyz team. It does not matter that they ride pine they are just on the team.

JK said it best as long as the USA has a pay for play system it will fail. Until major changes are made on how $$$ can be made from development the US system will be subpar.

Because it is always about the $$$$$$

How do you come up with only 3000 play DA. More like:

          94 clubs have U12 (two teams = 26 players), U13 and U14 teams.
Total players per club = Approx. 70
Total younger DA players in US = 6580

          74 clubs have U15/16 and U17/18 teams.
Total players per club = Approx. 40
Total older DA players in US = 2960

          Total DA players = 9540

            DA Academy

They are giving it to overall unsuccessful clubs. The college coaches know which clubs are producing quality players regardless of the coach's license status. Until the politics of this sport changes nothing will get better. Look at ODP. They have players on there that played high school JV soccer on so-so teams picked because their coach is an ODP Coach. Very sad....

A few cross genders....hahaha.....you're so goddamned funny!!! You're also a sackless little dbag that secretively keeps a stack of skin mags under your bed so you can spank your teeny tiny monkey with your teeny tiny Trump hands while looking at the images in the mags and fantasizing that the women within are your sister.

Given this amount of players, 9540, don't you think, if it averages about 6,000, for training fees, uniforms, travel expenses, tournament fees, admin, etc, per year (maybe less for younger U12's and U13's, maybe a little more for the olders), can't US soccer come up with the 57+ million it would take to offer no fees to all DA players? If, as you say, there are 7.5 million boy youth soccer players in this country, that are registered with US Soccer, can't US soccer just add $10 per registration per year to cover the cost with all monies going to the DA. Then you will have more of the best players playing in the DA, which would raise the level considerably.

you're assuming that those rosters are going to have 20 players per team. I'm sorry but the number will more likely average out to around 25-26. It wouldn't surprise me to see teams with roster sizes of 30. Some will be around 20 but those teams will be the exception, not the rule.

Are you referring to the boys DA with your age groupings? The GDA, per US Soccer's website, will be grouped as such: "The program will feature three combined age groups: U-14/15, U-16/17 and U-18/19.

The GDAP has made a joke of girls youth soccer. Clay County. Boca Utd. East Meadow. World Class. Beach. Lamoranda. Charlotte. San Juan. Eastside. Seattle Reign(no teams) They are making a joke of who they are selecting. Just taking teams to take them.

This is not true. There will not be that many in each club. The numbers are not there for TOP players. Clubs can roster a lot of players but they can only bring 18 to the field to play. They will be the GDA and not a just name on the roster.

U12 is new this year as is U13 for most. They haven't had any impact yet and shouldn't be counted. That takes out a big portion of your total
