    Absolutely gutted

While I've seen much football during my life, today's loss was very difficult. It's hard to come to terms with losing to such a small footballing nation. It would seem appropriate for us to admit that we're just not good enough internationally. The premiership wasn't all that good until foreign owners poured millions into the teams and purchased foreign talent. Our players just are not at that level.

Maybe we should just take a moment and evaluate what we as a nation actually bring to the game.

    Also Gutted

As an Englishman living here I took time of work to watch the game with my boys we set up in front of the telly and watched some of the worst dross I have ever seen.

The coach had to fall on his sword but some of those players just had no idea on how to play as a team. England are not the sum of their parts while Iceland are far better than the sum of their parts. They worked for each other where England could not even make a 10 yrd pass.

Think its an ego thing with them. They play the game their way and not what the coach wants because they are big time Jessie's and don't need to be told what to do!!!!!!

Hodgson looked clueless too with his selections and the players he took to the Euro's. This guy was one of the best coaches in Europe just talk to the Italians and the Swiss so why was he so bad?

Guess I should be used to it now.

Well, whoever put Rooney in midfield has to answer to someone. There were many other questionable decisions as well.

Italians.......whoever would go to the Italians for advice? You do remember they voted Cicciolina into their legislature.

        Vardy not starting?

If Vardy would have played the entire game, this wouldn't be a conversation. Why Hodgson would start ANYONE else is beyond comprehension. They actually looked far more dangerous after he entered.
