Congratulations state cup champions, you have earned the right to proudly represent Oregon at regionals... that is unless you happen to be in the boys or girls U12 age bracket. "You" get to stay home and your season is over. You see OR elected to be a leader in youth soccer and adopt a small field 9v9 format, the rest will largely follow suit next season. However, since OR did not play an 11v11 format this year you are not eligible for regional play and we will give your spot to some other team that did not actually win their state cup. Better luck next year!

Most clubs allow their teams to do 2 training sessions to two games which is terrible.
We are failing by allowing this to happen.
Kids should be playing small sides games longer.
9v9 should be until the change of the size of ball at U13.
There should be no results posted until U16
There should be no state, regional or national cups until U16
There should be no throw ins at U5-U11. Kick ins. Dribble in if you want from U5-U10
There should be no offsides until U11
At U11 and U12 there should be an offsides line 20 yds to help open up the game.
At U13 with the change of the ball size you introduce offsides as normal.
Someone needs to have the balls to make the changes above. Those changes will help build better playersComment
